#4819 Request for Resources: Stage OSBS system
Closed: Fixed None Opened 8 years ago by maxamillion.

= phenomenon =
I would like to request a single system be provisioned in the stage environment such that I may deploy and test the OpenShift Build Service(OSBS)[0][1] and integrate it with stage Koji using the container builder koji plugin[2] as part of the Fedora Docker Layered Image Build Change[3]

One caveat I would like to point out is that OpenShift v3 is not packaged and in Fedora proper (yet), it is currently blocked awaiting Go Packaging Guidelines[4] approval for handling bundled libraries with golang static linking. In the mean time, upstream builds are maintained in COPR[5].

I would also like to note that there is a parallel plan in the works to evaluate removing the OpenShift component from the build service as it is a very large system that provides a lot of functionality that we're not using nor are interested in for our relatively specific/niche use case. We are planning to align with CentOS to work upstream on build tooling around atomic-reactor[6], which is a core building block of OSBS that does most of the heavy lifting. I mention this because there's a very good possibility that this stage OSBS system will be decommissioned in the event that collaboration pans out.

Thank you,
-AdamM

ok.

What stats do you need for this host?

{{{
rhel7?
cpus?
memory?
disk?
}}}

I could do with less if needed, but ideally if I could I would like:

{{{
rhel7
2 cpus
8gb ram
60gb hdd
}}}

Thank you.

osbs01.stg.phx2.fedoraproject.org is now ready.

I'm going to close this ticket for now, but we can re-open or file a full RFR if we are needing to actually move this to production.
