#4648 MirrorManager for fedora-21 repo points to development/, not releases/
Closed: Fixed Opened by kparal.

I noticed, that

https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-20&arch=x86_64

points to

releases/20/Everything/x86_64/os/

but

https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-21&arch=x86_64

points to

development/21/x86_64/os/

I see two problems with this:
1. There are much fewer mirrors which mirror development/ than those which mirror releases/, therefore users see slower download speeds.
2. Some companies have private mirrors, but mirror only releases/, not development/, and therefore their F21 installation use the Internet instead of fast local mirrors. (my case)

Please fix, thanks.

This is completely normal. ;)

We have it this way at release because more mirrors have development/n mirrored than releases.

They are hard linked and neither one changes, so it shouldn't matter any for content.

But in any case it's past time to change it over, so I have done so. Should sync out in the next hour or so.

OK, thanks, will check tomorrow.

PS: It matters if you only mirror releases/ and have a private mirror, in that case mirrormanager does not return your private mirror to you. But I understand your mentioned use case a bit more important :)

I have tried it right now, https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-21&arch=x86_64 still points to development/. Something went wrong? Reopening.

ok, should finally be fixed now.

I ran the script that was supposed to move it, but it didn't do anything. Dennis then went into the db and cleaned it up.
