I had a problem with mirrors out of sync and it took me a long while to be able to report it (not to mention I still don't know when it will actually get fixed...)

I tried:
* Looking for anything useful in https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/, nothing there.
* E-mail mirror-admin@fedoraproject.org, got a reply to try this site.
* Connect to #fedora-noc on FreeNode, also eventually got a reply to try this site.
* On this site, there was no link to file a ticket, eventually on IRC they explained I needed to open an account.

This is fairly ridiculous... That I need to jump through such hoops to report that there is a problem with mirrors, which I imagine you would be likely to want to know about since it probably affects a lot of users trying to download and update Fedora...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add a link to a simple form to report a problem at https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/

That should be a simple form asking to report the problem and it should file a ticket on the user's behalf.

It shouldn't require creating an account... A captcha would probably be OK, but you really want to hear from outsiders on problems with mirrors...

At the https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ website you should also add a link to that same form, since to anyone landing there it's far from obvious how to report a problem.

Rest assured this is on our radar, we just have not yet gotten to it. Additionally we are in Freeze for Fedora 21 Alpha, and making changes to mirrormanager is not something we want to do.

So, looking at this further... perhaps we could/should just make the mirror-admin email (which goes to a list) the place to report such issues?

email is easy, everyone can do it, the page already has that info... but you were redirected from that to file a ticket?

I agree with you that reporting by e-mail should be fine, especially since such a mailing list already exists.

If that's the case, please state prominently that this is the way to communicate problems with mirrors, particularly in the https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/ page which I believe is the first one I'd check to see where to report a problem with mirrors...

Well, it already has at the bottom:

"Please direct questions or problems with this list to mirror-admin at fedoraproject.org."

I'll talk to others on that list and see if we can't make it the primary point of contact for issues.

If that doesn't work out, will reopen and try another approach.

That's really the fine print though :-)

Can it be stated in the top and in particular mention that that includes problems with mirrors being unreachable or out-of-date?
