= bug description =
PCP upstream developers have expressed an interest in having new Fedora/EPEL bugs automatically CC'd to the public pcp mailing list (pcp@oss.sgi.com).
= bug analysis =
Had an earlier exchange with some internal RH folks, and recently kfenzi mentioned opening a Fedora infrastructure ticket would be the best way to go...
From: "kfenzi@redhat.com via RT" bugzilla-requests@redhat.com ... We can create pseudo users that cause bugs to be assigned to a list or other collection of people. Would it be possible for you to refile this in the Fedora Infrastructure trac instance?
So, if its possible to manage this email bridge within Fedora infrastructure (with no input from upstream PCP folks), that would be ideal. They're also open to adding special pseudo users and managing forwarding on their end, but that doesn't seem like alot of double-handling, and a less neat solution to me.
= fix recommendation =
Bugzilla emails from bugzilla.redhat.com arrive at pcp@oss.sgi.com.
Thanks!
I assumed that you wanted the user added to the pcp package: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/acls/name/pcp
If so, this is now done. Please be sure that pcp@oss.sgi.com is setup as a user in bugzilla.redhat.com and that the mailing list is set to recieve email from bugzilla.
Hi,
Thanks for that - I see the pcp-upstream account there in pkgdb now. Since its a public mailing list, upstream folks have created a Red Hat bugzilla account "pcp@kenj.com.au" to serve as mirror - could we use that as the email target for the "pcp-upstream" pkgdb entry?
Sorry for not mentioning it earlier, for some reason I thought it might not be needed.
cheers.
Done.
