#3823 Installation of Dell R520 PHX2 for Kernel Team
Closed: Fixed Opened by smooge.

= phenomenon =

Fedora Kernel team got 2 Dell R520 systems for building and testing of kernels. The systems were shipped to the PHX2 location.

= background analysis =

= implementation recommendation =

1) Systems require F19.
2) Systems will need ansible versus puppet due to incompatible puppet differences between EL6 and F17+
3) System will require the sysadmin-kernel group to have sudo access.

Hi,
We're waiting on a few changes to our network port allows so we can give you sensible access to these systems.

One word of warning - we will need you to great a 2-factor token in the fedora account system for use with sudo on these systems.

You can use a google authenticator or a yubikey (or both!) but you will need one.

Can these be SUDO:NOPASSWD? I don't see much occasion to be doing anything on these boxes as anyone other than root really, we will be using sudo for pretty much everything we would do here, and there shouldn't be any sensitive data involved.

Sure, thats fine. We just kinda default to doing 2 factor for sudo these days. If you folks would prefer NOPASSWD thats ok. We can also always revisit it if there are further concerns.

Finished install. Users happy.
