#3797 events calendar in fedocal
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by cwickert.

Please create a calendar "events" in fedocal. It will serve as replacement for the [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Events events wiki page]

  • calendar name events
  • calendar description: Fedora events
  • calendar contact: famsco@fedoraproject.org
  • calendar managers group: @famsco
  • multiple meetings: yes
  • region meetings: yes

From my understanding of the discussion on the ambassador list, you probably want the manager group to be ambassador rather than famsco, or do you want anyone in fpca to be able to add event?

I would like to see all FCPA members to be able to add events and add their own.

Ii'm afraid the current documentation is a little misleading. It only mentions admins and users, but it doesn't mention what privileges users have. The sentence "After logging in with your FAS account you can create a meeting in one of the available calendar." made me believe that every account holder can add events.

Can you elaborate the privilege model a bit please? what is the reason for having users if everybody is a user? What about non-users, can they still see a certain calendar?

The model is pretty simple:
everyone can read all calendars
adding meetings to a calendar is restricted to either fpca (default) or another group (the group managing that specific calendar)
edit/delete can only be done by the managers of the meeting (by default the person who created it + anyone that person adds)
adding/editing/deleting calendars can only be done by global fedocal admins

Does that answer your question?

Shall we create this with the default fpca permisson to add meetings?

Yes please, however I find the privilege model a bit simplistic. Hope it works out.

Done.

Please let us know if you need anything further or run into any problems.

For the record, I have been working so that we can give a group edit/delete rights over all the meetings of a calendar.
