The mailing lists info page [1] needs to be set up properly to support national alphabets, such as Russian, Tamil, Persian, Japanese, etc. so that native speakers could see the descriptions. Thanks.

Sadly, this is a mailman bug. ;(
I don't think they have any plans to fix it in the current version, instead hopefully it's fixed in mailman 3.
