Project name: pthreading

Project short summary: pthreading monkey-patches Python 2.x's threading.py to use POSIX threads. Using it reduces context-switching considerably for multi-threaded Python processes. The code currently exists within http://gerrit.ovirt.org/gitweb?p=vdsm.git but I would like to spin it off for wider users.
