#3385 Forward DNS for fedora cloud hosts
Closed: Fixed Opened by tremble.

Good afternoon gentlemen,

Ask discussed (albeit briefly) with Kevin on IRC.

We (Red Hat IT) have received a couple of tickets due to forward and reverse DNS not matching for fedora cloud hosts. We'd rather leave a vaguely descriptive reverse DNS in place. So it would be appreciated if you'd be willing to add some matching forward DNS entries.

The reverse entries in place are:
209.132.179:$GENERATE 0-249 $ PTR cloud-$-179-132-209.fedoraproject.org.
209.132.178:$GENERATE 1-18 $ PTR cloud-$-178-132-209.fedoraproject.org.
209.132.178:19 IN PTR cumulus.fedoraproject.org.
209.132.178:$GENERATE 20-255 $ PTR cloud-$-178-132-209.fedoraproject.org.

Many thanks,

Mark

The reason we were asked about this is that a user is having issues logging into one of the cloud hosts with SSH because the forward and reverse DNS don't match.

$ ssh @209.132.178.12
reverse mapping checking getaddrinfo for
cloud-12-178-132-209.fedoraproject.org [209.132.178.12] failed -
POSSIBLE BREAK-IN ATTEMPT!

Turns out this is another network... not us. ;)

So, closing this out.
