#3331 create new VM with access to the qa subnet
Closed: Fixed None Opened 11 years ago by tflink.

Please create a new VM with access to the qa subnet that also has a public hostname. The VM will be used to host the image building GSoC project (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/GSOC_2012/Student_Application_amitksaha/OnDemandBuildService)

public hostname: imagebuilder.qa.fedoraproject.org
OS: RHEL6

For now, 20-30G of disk will work but assuming that this project is successful and well used, we'd need to figure something else out but I figure that there's little point in worrying about that until it actually happens.

So, by public hostname you mean just something in dns?

Or you need some ports forwarded into it from an external ip address?
(ie, do you need http, httpd, something else?)

I suppose that the ports might be a good thing to include. For now, http forwarding from an external ip will be fine. I imagine that we'll use https eventually but haven't gotten that far yet.

Adding information that I forgot to include:
* 2 GiB memory
* 1 CPU
* 20-30 GiB disk
* x86_64
* port 80 forwarded from external IP

ok, the new machine is up.

it's at 10.5.124.230

dns should update soon: imagebuilder.qa.fedoraproject.org

I'll submit the ticket to get the http port forwarded into it.
