Email addresses are unique to a user. We should be able to accept them instead of username to verify someone. I belieive if we modify the fas server we should be able to do that.
It should be pretty easy to change the fas server to accept email addresses in place of usernames. See this python-fedora ticket for details:

This is done for admin.fp.o -- for some reason it's not working for the wiki or insight. Do we want someone to take a look at that?
jsmith and sijis worked on this. jsmith patched the insight adapter and is sending the patch to stickster for inclusion in the insight auth plugin. sijis is committing the mediawiki plugin changes to the puppet repo later tonight. Closing this since the fixes are going in soon.
