However currently this error is ending up rattling around on the Red Hat mail servers because it's coming from a dud sender...

Headers mildly mangled to avoid screenscrape-able valid addresses root@mx1.redhat.com and root@localhost.fedoraproject.org are the ones that need correcting. Full headers available on request.
Did these just start in the last day or so? Or has it been ongoing?
Fix for the traceback deployed. Leaving open because the reason these emails are going to @rh.c won't be fixed by that.
I don't see anywhere where this could happen currently.
