#2595 download.fedora.devel.redhat.com
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by mmahut.

= Change Requested =

Please add vhost download.fedora.devel.redhat.com to 209.132.181.16

= Reasoning =

Fedora 14 DVDs were printed with wrong URL containing download.fedora.devel.redhat.com as the mirror repository.

Hi, if we're fine with pointing that URL to the master mirror, the easiest solution would probably be to CNAME that to dl.fedoraproject.org. This wouldn't require any configuration changes on our part. Otherwise, we could make this a ServerAlias for download.fedoraproject.org and hit the mirror redirector. Thoughts?

Adding the Site admins for Red Hat Internal mirror. d.f.d.r.c isn't managed by FI, it's Red Hat engineering-internal...

mmahut: where on the F14 DVD has the wrong URL please?

Sounds better, I've changed the entry -- should be propagated in few minutes.

These DVDs were handed at FOSDEM conference last weekend. Let me get you a picture.

That's cute. Have we informed the Art and/or Ambassadors team so that they can fix this template for the future?

I told them in person, I will double check they are aware of this.

download.fedora.devel.redhat.com has been CNAMED to dl.fedoraproject.org. as a work-around, but please do not use that URL at all.

Thanks to notting for opening a ticket with design.

I think this is resolved and can be closed.

FYI it was used on the media sleeves for all the media that FAmNA (Fedora Ambassadors North America) produced for F14 also.

Ideally the CNAME should be replaced with a permanent redirect to dl.fedoraproject.org, to help Google just point to one domain instead of showing results for both.
