Helping bridge a user community together via a Planet is a good opportunity for feedback between users and developers and between users themselves. It provides a platform for users to voice opinions and write about Fedora and other things.

One thing I wonder about this (mostly from talks with other people in RH) is whether or not we should host something like this. Or whether we should put some more bits into Fedora to better integrate with mugshot.
We should take a look at what Fedora's "Online Desktop" strategy is.
Seth what do you think about this?
I'm not terribly keen on this idea of a specific planet instance While the developer/contributor planet makes sense b/c you can learn more about the people developing the disto and find announcements; I don't see what the user planet offers or how to keep the scope correct.
I'd be more inclined to suggest a fedora forum site where people can publish individual fedora use cases and stories, etc, and have the collection of those posts be available via rss.
ok, so I'm mugshot stupid, but isn't there a way we could encourage users to hit up mugshot for collaboration.
In the long term I think bringing the fedora users together is a very good thing but we've got too much on our plate right now to consider it. I'll close this until we have a better idea in mind what services Fedora should provide to its users.
