#172 Add HTML output to repodata directories
Closed: Fixed None Opened 16 years ago by liquidat.

The current repodata directories of Fedora don't contain an HTML interface to browse them. But that is easy to add and was already done for the Extras repository of former times (So this is a regression, btw.).

Since the HTML output can massively improve the accessibility of information around packages and especially package updates it would be sensible to add them again. It was promised several times in IRC to do that "soon" but was never done.

Please add it asap, it shouldn't be that hard.

You'd think it wouldn't be hard, but then again you haven't looked at our current compose methods :/

That said, we did the work to enable repoview in rawhide/releases and updates dirs, only to have repoview choke and break a compose :/ A fix has been done upstream and we'll look at doing it again after test3.

Hm, I didn't knew it was so hard :(
But thanks for the work, I really would love it to have it :)

I saw that repoview itself is now available in Fedora 8 - great!
There is one smaller issue: there is no link from each package site back to the overview, you have to use the back button of the browser.

Opened a ticket against Bodhi to enable the updates repo portion of this ticket.

Which would be a feature request for repoview. The Extras repoview was patched heavily to fix such issues (and to get rid of the thousands of html file updates with each update). The patch was pushed/accepted upstream, but replaced in a re-design of repoview, which resulted in a subsequent release of repoview that was very different from the patched Extras repoview.
