= phenomenon = I'm starting an SIG for GNUstep packaging, and it's getting to the point that it is easier to coördinate things if there is a centralized mailing list to keep records.
Modelling after fedora-mono, could I request fedora-gnustep@lists.fedoraproject.org ?
= background analysis = Several threads in fedora-devel and fedora-packaging about GNUstep packaging, over the past year
= implementation recommendation = fedora-gnustep@lists.fedoraproject.org mailing list. Probably set the admin to my Fedora email address, salimma@fedoraproject.org
Are you sure there is enough traffic for this? :)
We don't want to have lists with 'fedora' in them, as being at lists.fedoraproject.org should be enough to let people know they are fedora related and lists.
Would 'gnustep@lists.fedoraproject.org' be ok? Or perhaps 'gnustep-sig' or 'gnustep-packaging' ?
Well, two's company, three's a crowd. And conversations tend to get broken when one person Reply: rather than Reply All.
Regarding naming -- gnustep-sig, perhaps. Don't want people to confuse it with the upstream lists. Should fedora-mono be renamed, then, or is it too late?
gnustep-sig should be setup now. It should have mailed you an admin password for the list.
fedora-mono should get renamed at some point... along with any of the others that don't meet the guidelines. ;(
