The list could be called fedora-science-list or fedora-scitech-list
I personally prefer science over scitech although the group is https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:SciTech_SIG There is now also an irc-channel #fedora-science and the name reflects the mission more direct.

Well, I think we are trying to avoid using 'fedora' in the list names, as they are already all @lists.fedoraproject.org, which should indicate they are fedora related as well as indicating they are a list. ;)
So, how about "scitech-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org" or "scitech@lists.fedoraproject.org" ?
Ok, now I'm confused. I thought the lists where hosted at red hat, for instance the robotics interest group: fedora-robotics-list@redhat.com or the ambassadors mailinglist: fedora-ambassadors-list@redhat.com
I've never seen the type of addresses you are describing. Anyway. Then I guess I'd go for the 'scitech@' format.
Lists were/are hosted there, but we will be migrating them over to lists.fedoraproject.org at some point, and want to make all new lists go there to start with.
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo
should show the lists that are already there.
Your list should be done, it should have mailed you an admin password/info.
