#12897 packages.fp.o not refreshing since 2025-10-26
Closed: Fixed a month ago by decathorpe. Opened a month ago by decathorpe.

Describe what you would like us to do:

It looks like the process behind refreshing https://packages.fedoraproject.org/ broke again, it was last updated on 2025-10-26 according to the site itself.

Additionally, it doesn't seem to know about the Fedora 43 release yet, either, and the search functionality is broken: "Error communicating with Solr"

Please investigate what's wrong, and ideally redeploy / restart / refresh the thing.

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

Not urgent, but soon. Outdated data on this page is confusing for users.

I thought this might be an easy and entertaining thing to fix this morning. ;)

Of course it had a number of issues:

  1. It's solr-storage volume (10GB) was 100% full.
  2. Fixed that and then it had corrupt files from the 100% full thing.
  3. Cleaned out those and re-ran it's startup and it was getting timeouts downloading metadata.
  4. Found that we had dl.fedoraproject.org resolving internally in rdu3 to just the external ip of dl01.
  5. Fixed that to point to all 5 download servers on their local/internal ip for rdu3.

and now it's creating new pages. Will keep this until we confirm it's working.

We have talked about merging this into mdapi/metasource or at least redoing it so it just uses that as a backend, but haven't gotten to it yet. ;(

I think it's all back on track. Please confirm.

It looks up-to-date and non-broken now, thank you!
