Issue #12513 marked the packages dm-zoned-tools and zonefs-tools as orphaned, with the explanation: These users have been identified as inactive during the F42 development cycle, therefore they should be removed from the packagers group and their packages orphaned.
I am not inactive and keep testing & monitoring these packages. However, since the code for these packages is very stable and does not need updates (unless a bug is found), I am indeed not modifying much to them. But these packages are NOT orphaned, I am still maintaining these and their kernel side code too.
As soon as possible.
Forgot to add libzbd as well to the list of impacted packages. Similar to dm-zoned-tools and zonefs-tools, this is a stable code base that does not need frequent changes/maintenance. Hence the lack of activity for it, but it is used in production as a dependency for other projects. It must not be orphaned/retired.
This was the easy path: https://pagure.io/find-inactive-packagers/issue/2181
We are now on the slightly more difficult path: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Policy_for_inactive_packagers/#returning
