Hey Fedorians!
In Fedora Discuss we come across tons of people that have detailed and exact reports. I think they could be directed to the Bugzilla directly.
Discourse works great, and we are a good team of people... still the actual Bug reports reach the correct people.
Apart from Bugzilla having somewhat of a learning curve and an unintuitive UI (and no mobile UI!), you cannot really find it!
Matthew or somebody directed me to bugz.fedoraproject.org, with is a very odd name.
The shortcut for "bugzilla"... come on, nobody gets that 🙃
bugs.fedoraproject.org does not exist, fedoraproject.org/bugs neither.
Meanwhile, KDE and GNOME both use this domain or at least as a redirect to their bug page.
Having Bugzilla on all these Domains would help a lot.
And... I found out the Bugzilla is not even linked on the Website? Instead there are very nice redirects to Discuss, which explains our traffic here. No mention of Bugs, anywhere.
Cheers!

Sure, if they are actually packaging bugs in fedora. We shouldn't ask everyone to file a bug when they think they found one, but it's a configuration issue on their part, or a known issue already being worked on, or a upstream issue the fedora maintainers can't do much about.
Well, we don't want to say "if you have a problem with Fedora, file a bug!" because we would get a flood of not bugs. After someone has been helped at ask fedora when it becomes clear something is a packaging bug, the user could be redirected to file one?
We do have:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/bugzilla-file-a-bug/

It's not a shortcut for bugzilla. ;)
It's a redirect / alias we setup a long time ago to help maintainers file open bugs on particular packages.
If you go to https://bugz.fedoraproject.org/<packagename> it redirects you to a bugzilla search for open bugs on that package. It's just a handy shortcut for maintainers. :)
What domain? I am not sure I understand this one...

Additionally bugzilla.redhat.com is not a site we run. It's run by Red Hat. However, they are moving off of it, so likely someday it will go away. Also, we are looking at moving to a new git forge and as part of that we may decide to move off bugzilla.redhat.com at the same time.
Does that all make sense? I'm not sure if there is much action we can take on this right now? Is there something specific you would like us to do ?
If you have specific actions you want us to take here, please do reopen...

Sorry, overread the messages.
I agree that Fedora Discuss is a good place to start and a lot of people do that, this works well.
The bugz shortcut is neat, very cool.
I personally use https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?classification=Fedora as a bookmark, while having that docs page with an explanation be aliased to bugs.fedoraproject.org would also make sense.
I meant that gnome and kde both have bugs.project.tld as at least a redirect
Yes I know of the RedHat Bugzilla issue. But I dont know yet what the alternative would be. Having issues where a single repo is used, and the package repo actually gets the issues, could be nice.
I saw that a lot of people voted for Gitlab some time ago, which I find... not perfect, but if they prefer it...
For now, I think it would be great to link bugs.fedoraproject.org to
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/bugzilla-file-a-bug
This would help a lot. I can look at the quickdoc and maybe add a note on how to ask for help in the Forum

I suppose we can do that, although I worry about confusion from people who use the 'bugz.fedoraproject.org' redirect/search link.
ok. This is now done. ;)
