#1116 ISO image sizes on download page are neither translatable nor localized
Closed: Fixed None Opened 15 years ago by robert.

On e.g. http://fedoraproject.org/de/get-fedora, we're writing currently the size of the ISO images down for the users - but as string. In english this is okay. But in Germany, we write "3,5 GB" rather "3.5GB" in the US. The only thing which the *.po files currently allow is "3.5 GB". That means, I can't replace the dot by a colon.

In Perl and PHP, usually a sprintf/printf with localisation honoring would be used. In Python, a "%.1f" also should fit - but the localisation honoring using local.something() is my problem. It looks like it either doesn't work with genshi or my Python knowledge is just too less (last should be true).

After a short talk with Ricky about that in IRC, I'm hereby opening the ticket.

In the new fp.o site, this has moved to http://fedoraproject.org/de/get-fedora-options#formats. We should probsbly remove '3.5 GB' as a string and just add it directly as a translatable string, unless there has been some enhancements to python or genshi since this ticket was openend.

Hi, this have more to do with [/fedora-websites/ websites].
It as been updated in the [http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=fedora-web.git;a=commitdiff;h=fa730fb887ed08c667a847dad93b4f55462f1869 last push].
Thank you to have highlighted that.
It has been integrated in the string, I hope for translators that it won't change too often. Will see later to update the Genshi template.

There would probably be other changes if we update the "MB" and "GB" references as "MiB" and "GiB".

Updates would be available on the staging websites on the next buid (built hourly),

Reopen please if you find the issue not resolved.
