#10987 Member options in Postorious don't work correctly
Closed: Upstream 10 months ago by kevin. Opened a year ago by kparal.

When I open Member options for myself in the test list administrative interface, none of the options have a properly shown state. All radio buttons are empty, it's not clear which option is enabled and which is disabled. See below:

When I try to change some values and save changes, I get this warning:

Cannot convert parameters: acknowledge_posts, hide_address, receive_list_copy, receive_own_postings

So I'm not even sure if those values save properly or not. When I refresh the page, all options are again displayed as undetermined.

I think this is because somehow it didn't populate the current settings.

If you set all of them and save does that work?

Yes, that doesn't print the warning above, it's happy now:

The member's preferences have been updated.

However, I still don't see my current settings after refresh.

@kparal how did you get to that link for the member options? this should be the one that you get, and it should work:

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/accounts/list-options/test-list.lists.fedoraproject.org/

@kparal how did you get to that link for the member options?

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test@lists.fedoraproject.org/ -> Manage this list. I'm the admin for that list.

this should be the one that you get, and it should work:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/accounts/list-options/test-list.lists.fedoraproject.org/

I get:
"The requested URL /admin/accounts/list-options/test-list.lists.fedoraproject.org/ was not found on this server."

sorry i contructed the wrong URL last time this one should work if you are subscribed:

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/accounts/list-options/test.lists.fedoraproject.org/

Note that this shoudl let you change your options, the other interface is the admin interface that, in theory will let you change your options, and everyone else in the lists options. No idea yet why that is not working, but the above link should work to allow you to change your own options

Ok, I can confirm that your URL shows my options values correctly (while the admin interface doesn't).

@kparal Is there still something you need help with or is your issue fixed?

Well it's still broken, as originally reported. We just found a workaround to avoid an error displayed when saving. But you still can't determine the current values. Talking about the admin interface and a selected member, not about configuring your own subscription using a different URL.

realistically the only way we are likely to get this fixed is by moving to the latest upstream version and going from there. ;)

Which is looking like it might be happening at some point here.

I'd personally prefer to just close this now and revisit after we move to the newer version...

ok. Thanks.

Lets revisit this after we move to the latest...
