#10708 Need help moving F32/F33 to archives.
Closed: Fixed 2 years ago by smooge. Opened 2 years ago by smooge.

@adrian

I have copied over the archives of F32 and F33 over to the /pub/archives partition but am having problems with the next command which I believe is mm2_move-to-archive --directoryRe=32

This fails with errors like:

[mirrormanager@mm-backend01 ~][PROD-IAD2]$ mm2_move-to-archive --directoryRe=32 --originalCategory='Fedora Linux' --archiveCategory='Fedora Archive'
trying to find pub/archive/fedora/linux/updates/testing/32/Everything/SRPMS
Unable to find a directory in [Fedora Archive] for pub/fedora/linux/updates/testing/32/Everything/SRPMS
[mirrormanager@mm-backend01 ~][PROD-IAD2]$ mm2_move-to-archive --directoryRe=32 --originalCategory='Fedora Linux' --archiveCategory='Fedora Archive'
trying to find pub/archive/fedora/linux/updates/32/Everything/aarch64/debug
Unable to find a directory in [Fedora Archive] for pub/fedora/linux/updates/32/Everything/aarch64/debug

I stopped here to make sure I didn't create any further possible problems.

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

move-to-archive sometimes is not easy, but the current problem originates from the DB not knowing about the new files because fullfiletimelist-archive has not been updated.

If fullfiletimelist-archive is updated and once the DB has been updated to contain the corresponding information, the move-to-archive script should work.

FYI, yesterday I updated the fullfiletimelist...

So, perhaps monday it the scripts will be happy...

I was able to run the scripts for 32 and 33 and in about an hour I will verify if it points to archive/ and then it could be deleted from the original location.

The script requires code changes for each category and adapted copies can be found here:

/root/mm2_move-to-archive.epel
/root/mm2_move-to-archive.secondary

I will update the ticket once I have verified it.

Might this be related to why F32/33 mirrors seem to be 404ing today?

https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-32&arch=x86_64
https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-33&arch=x86_64

We've got a bunch of old CI stuff on F33 that all died recently.

Yes, this did not work as expected. I tried to revert it to the original location.

Please update this ticket if it still does not work in about an hour.

@smooge Please do not delete 32/33 yet from non-archive locations.

Thanks- we'll check back in awhile.

Looks like it's working again- thanks!

ppc64le and s390x (fedora-secondary/) are now coming from the archive. There was a bug in the primary mirror scanner which is now fixed.

I will probably switch the remaining architectures tomorrow to the archive location.

All 32/33 variants are now pointing to the archive. Seems to work so far.

@smooge it should be possible to remove the files now for fedora/ and fedora-secondary.

Let's see if we get any reports in the next few hours/days if I broke it again. The metalinks I checked were looking correct.

Fedora 32 and Fedora 33 have been removed from /pub/fedora/linux and /pub/fedora-secondary. Mirror sizes should be reflected with the smaller size tomorrow.
