#1049 gitweb says "unnamed repository" and owner "root"
Closed: Fixed None Opened 15 years ago by roland.

The gitweb links on the project list page get you a gitweb that says:

description Unnamed repository; edit this file to name it for gitweb.

owner root

It would be nice if the description were something for the project, even if just a generic "Fedora Hosted Project foobar". Perhaps also with a link to the project front page.

The owner could be the project admin or something. "root" just seems SO useless.

What specific repos are you concerned about, and what would you like their owners and descriptions to be?

I'll look into finding a way to change the owner of all the projects to their FAS owner, that's a filesystem ownership thing.

I noticed it first for my project, elfutils. But look at http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/ and see that many or most of them have the stub description. I don't know how the ones with other descriptions got them in there. Letting each project admin change theirs would be fine. But I think it would make more sense to have these be automatically generated so they all have a link to the project's page or something like that.

Well, I fixed the gitweb stuff last night by changing the owner of the repo directories on the server, and it looks better now.

Thanks for the report!
