sorry to jump on this one after code, but IMHO, not sure if this is a good idea.

Favicons are typically associated with the site you ate looking at, not the page in a site. I know the hubs are really sub-sites of hubs, but having the favicon change for each userpage, and group hub might get messy (especially knowing that the majority of avatars arent optimized for, say a 16x16 favicon display.)

Well, we do show the avatar pretty small on pagure itself, just see the size of the ones we show here on this page for each comment :)

For the rest I see you point, what do you think of trying it out and dropping it if it does get messy or confuse people?

Even if we keep a single favicon for the entire site, I do think the idea of announcing notifications/changes using the favicon is cool :)
