#77 EFI-specific GRUB config no longer needed
Opened 2 months ago by reefscolding. Modified 2 months ago

The page Working with the GRUB 2 Boot Loader instructs the reader to use /boot/grub2/grub.cfg for BIOS-based machines, and /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg for UEFI-based machines. This is repeated a few times throughout the guide. However, this is no longer the correct approach; the GRUB config files were unified in F34, so that only /boot/grub2/grub.cfg should be edited. Therefore, the UEFI-specific instructions should be removed.

This is especially important because, if the full configuration is written to the EFI directory's grub.cfg, then things like GRUB_DEFAULT=saved become broken without any obvious error. (grubenv is never loaded.)
