#662 F34: `install` kickstart directive now causes an error
Closed 2 years ago by pbokoc. Opened 3 years ago by adamwill.

Hope this will be picked up by a human. It's not logged as a Change, but there is a change in Fedora 34 that a lot of people are likely to trip over. The kickstart install directive is now removed, and will cause installation to fail with an error if it's present in the kickstart.

It's been deprecated for a long time, but anaconda has just ignored it. A lot of people have kickstarts they've been using for years or decades that likely still have this line in them (we in QA had several and I've seen several other people trip over this already).

We should probably mention this prominently in the release notes - check your kickstarts for install directives, and remove them.

@bcl @vladimirslavik for reference.

Thanks for the warning. I put a [WARNING] box on top of the installer section that warns about this as well as the now-mandatory inst. prefix for Anaconda boot options (#622). I'll close this issue and use #674 for general installer-related changes since that covers everything.
