When upgrading over 2 versions (F35 -> F37) the "remove-retired-packages" needs the old version as additional parameter: "remove-retired-packages 35"
Also: How is this different to the "sudo dnf list extras" steps below? I think it has the same purpose, why was remove-retired-packages added here?
If you click on the "history" icon on the page, you should be able to see when this was added. It's this change:
https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/quick-docs/c/3986c1f0f4c9accef71dc5e3e9fe84052800cbae?branch=master
I believe remove-retired-packages does more than list extras, although one will have to look at the source to see exactly what it does.
list extras
Additional note: upgrading over 2 releases is not supported, so the doc has not included information necessary for that particular usecase:
Upgrades across more than two releases are not supported, and issues encountered with such upgrades may not be considered significant bugs.
This addition is rather small though, so please feel free to open a pull request if you can.
