Background

I am an interaction designer on the Fedora Design team, as well as a writer and editor for the Fedora Magazine. In a previous life, I was also a Technical Writer and Illustrator. This involved writing Release Notes, and creating diagrams and illustrations for technical documentation.

Goals for the Hackfest

Primarily, would love to attend the hackfest to work face-to-face with other writers in creation of technical illustrations for the Fedora Documentation. The goal for the hackfest from a illustration point of view would be to work with writers in identifying topics that would benefit from illustrations and diagrams, create them, and start to work building a library of assets that others can use to create meaningful illustrations.

Additionally, I would love to help craft the documentation itself too, leaning on my past experience as a technical writer, and current experience as a writer and editor on the Fedora Magazine.

Finally, the hackfest will be a good opportunity to -- at the very least -- identify items in the documentation output that would benefit from some user experience thinking. If time allows in the hackfest, starting to implement some of the items identified would also be a goal.

Hi! Looks like we will be doing this in Seville, Spain. (Feb 26 - 2 March 2018, with travel days during weekends before/after.) Does that still work for you? Also, are you able / willing to share a room to help us save on costs?
