I am failing to build and preview the fedora-docs-ui in my local. I am using Ubuntu 20.04 with Podman Installed. I successfully copied the antora-ui-builder into my usr/bin/. The image is successfully created but an error is recorded when previewing the site.
bash antora-ui-builder preview
I get the result shown in the screenshot below:
Hi @jackiebinya, Can you share which command you have used to install the podman?
@aghasaad04 I followed instructions listed in this link https://www.vultr.com/docs/how-to-install-and-use-podman-on-ubuntu-20-04 .
@jackiebinya can you install podman-rootless? Command: sudo apt-get install podman-rootless
and try to run antora-ui-builder install and then antora-ui-builder preview

Hey thanks @aghasaad04 I will definitely try that and let you know how it goes. Did it work for you?
Yeah worked for me and you might need to make a few changes in gulp.js file as well if you face assertion errors. But Now I am facing other issues, website is running but not getting the expected output. Hey I get the same exact problem when I run the project in my local without using Docker. Isn't there are 2 ways in which you can run the project. One method you use images Docker other method you just builld ot using gulp commands.
Can you share the links for the docker method? Thanks
Yeah, remember I told you about this in the IRC. Here I was just documenting the issue I also encountered which is different from the one you recorded.
P.s I am using my mobile so I sincerely apologize for my atrocious spelling 😃.
Oh yep I remember, Kindly share the link of installation using docker when you are on from your machine.
Hi @jackiebinya , can you please guide me how were you able to copy your antora-ui-builder into usr/bin? It's not working for me
Hi please confirm the path to you /bin folder. Mine wasn't int the home folder as implied in the Overview. Otherwise I just used the command thats outlined in the Overview and only altered the target path of /bin .
Oh I see. I'll try that
If you are facing issues during the local setup through docker or podman, you can try to do setup without using script by following this guide https://docs.antora.org/antora-ui-default/build-preview-ui/ P.S. If you follow this guide, you will need nodejs version 10 and gulp version 3 as of now. It worked for me.
@anchal I am getting this output https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/36513474/96564615-d32d5280-12dc-11eb-81cd-01e4e6297eb3.png
I am able to run the project but I think this should not be the expected output.
hello @aghasaad04, I got the same output too. Should be the right one because, it goes in line with changes made on the repository files
