#99 NeuroFedora documentation on docs.fedoraproject.org
Closed 5 years ago Opened 5 years ago by ankursinha.

Could we please have place for NeuroFedora documentation on docs.fp.o? I've created a blank repository here for this: https://pagure.io/neuro-sig/documentation

I'm not sure where it would go. Maybe here? https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/engineering/

Thanks!

@ankursinha sure! Let me know when the docs are ready. There is a template you can use: https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/template

Awesome. I'll at least get the template ready by tomorrow hopefully and let you know. Thanks :)

I've added the minimum requirements so that it now builds with one page: https://pagure.io/neuro-sig/documentation

I just realised the "engineering" etc do not fall under "User Documentation". They seem to be for the community to use. Would it be possible to have this NeuroFedora bit in the "User Documentation" bit? It's meant to document how the various packages are to be installed and used and so on.

@ankursinha is NeuroFedora a remix? I am planning on adding a Remixes/Spins section, in which case your project could fall under there.

No, not yet. It may feature in the labs later, but currently it's only a special set of packages.

This may be our first SIG content :)

I'm wondering where would we put this under the User Documentation section. For example, I've put Silverblue on the homepage because they also have user docs and there is currently no other space for user docs. On the other hand, Modularity is under Engineering even though there is a little bit of user docs... Maybe we should create some "neutral space" for WGs/SIGs that's not just user or contributor-focused? @pbokoc what do you think?

Seems like a bigger restructuring - could we have a call about that?

@sanja Sure! Do you think we need a call? or let's maybe start with a thread on Discourse or a mailing list?

Yeah we should really start thinking about the site structure. While I love the influx of new docs from various groups, it's starting to get pretty difficult to find anything other than Fedora user docs.

+1 on the Discourse thread, this is something we should take time to consider instead of just spending an hour on a call talking about it.

Hello!

I've written up the initial draft for neuro-fedora docs. Could we have these on docs.fp.o now? They can be moved about when the reorganisation is complete? We want to announce neuro-fedora to the research community, but we don't want to do it until we have our docs up on docs.fp.o

Thanks :)

Happy new year, everyone! I hope you had a good break!

Could we please have the neurofedora docs up this week if possible?

Sorry to be a bother, but we really do want to announce the SIG to the research community ASAP, so it's a bit urgent. I'm hoping to submit a workshop proposal for CNS but I cannot include neurofedora in there until we've formally announced it.

@ankursinha Added, will be visible on the site within an hour.

It's linked from https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/engineering/ right now. But it's just a link. That means if we find a better place for the link in the future and move it, the URL to your content remains unchanged.

And happy new year to you, too! :-)

Yay! Thanks very much! Please close this ticket as "Fixed"! :fireworks:
