Opening this issue as a reference for Outreachy applicants.
Problem: The Docs front page has a lot of entries. It's not clear to visitors where they can find what they're looking for. And it's not clear to contributors where we should add new content when someone wants to add new docs sections to the front page.
For the application period, submit a pull request with your ideas for redesigning the front page. Include the reasoning behind decisions you made. The exact graphical style isn't important, so long as we can see the general concept represented. For reference, the page is in the fedora-docs/pages repository.
The accepted applicant will work on this as well as helping the team categorize other content to make it more discoverable (e.g. the navigation bar entries). If you have ideas there, including those can help your application.
You're also encouraged, if you wish, to submit a pull request for other issues in the repo. This is optional (in other words, not submitting other pull requests won't prevent you from being selected).
Hi, I'm an Outreachy applicant, and I'm interested in working on improving the docs experience. I have recently shifted to Fedora Linux 35 and have cloned the pages repository and the docs-build repository. I have installed podman on my system, but I need some help setting up the docs front page locally.

@padmajabhol @suzzysmith I think what this issue means is that the major contributions for outreachy applicants ( you can add other contributions though) is to submit a pull request of your ideas for redesigning the fedora documentation page. Whoever is selected would work on redesigning the page.

@subtle-influencer I did join the channel, I guess the right channel is https://web.libera.chat/#fedora-docs . But I'm unable to find older texts and since it's not an async mode of communication, I lose all my history after refreshing. Is it possible to use this particular issue to clear our doubts? This could benefit other potential interns too since a lot of us might have the same query!

I really don't know how to create a successful pull request. Anytime I try to, it says "no changes made". What am I supposed to change?
I understand you @padmajabhol , I am just saying if you need quick response from our mentor, then the IRC channel would be a better option.

You don't need to. So long as you include the link in your Outreachy application, that's sufficient.
