What kind of people do you expect to attend?
I'll conduct this event at my college, SVNIT Surat. The crowd will mainly consist of first and second year students pursuing B. Tech in Computer Science or nearby domains. Attendees majorly will consist of Open Source newbies and by extension Fedora newbies as well.
What do you plan to cover in the agenda for your FWD event?
The agenda will be as follows: 1. Open Source Introduction 2. Programs affiliated to OSS like Outreachy/GSoC 3. Introducing Fedora and all the various parts of Fedora they could contribute to. 4. A quick call with a long time Fedora contributor for some insights (It'd be awesome if @jflory7 is up for one  )
Not any per say, just some swags for the attendees would be a nice touch. If we could get them shipped here, that'll be great!

@shraddhaag Thanks for the request. Can you please share the address to ship swags?
I have my +1 for this request.
@tatica @jflory7 @bee2502 @jonatoni What is your vote for this request please?
+1 from me
@shraddhaag who else is speaking at the event?
Hi @shraddhaag, thanks for proposing a FWD event this year. :tada: I am +1 to the proposal but have a couple questions and points below.
My biggest question is, what parts of Fedora do you think will most interest your audience? This could be any part of Fedora or the community, but I'm curious what you think makes sense for your audience.
@jonatoni: @shraddhaag who else is speaking at the event?
I also had this question.
@shraddhaag: just some swags for the attendees would be a nice touch. If we could get them shipped here, that'll be great! @amsharma: Can you please share the address to ship swags?
Once this ticket is approved, swag is requested via a new fedora-budget ticket using the swag-request template.

I should be able to make this day work. The time zones may be a challenge though โ finding others to join is a good idea. Sumantro Mukherjee and Vipul Siddharth have done similar events at universities in India, perhaps one of them or someone they know could join for a short time over video too.

This is approved. Please open swag request in fedora-budget repo. thanks.
@amsharma: Can you please share the address to ship swags?
Sure! I've sent the address to ship the swags to you on Telegram :)
It'll only be me who'll speak at this event. As for organising, the Developer Student Club at my college would help out with the same :)
I'm planning to introduce them to What Can I do For Fedora?. I also wanted to showcase a couple of examples of what women in Fedora have been working with like @bee2502 exploring metrics about the Fedora community. Any other such example would be really helpful.
I've updated the dates for the event. It'll be awesome if you could still make it work! :) I'll talk to them as well!
@shraddhaag Best luck for the event and please make sure to collect the feedback from the attendees after the event! It will help us to improve. https://forms.gle/7auXeGLSz3GMmrqx6
Oh awesome! Will definitely get it ๐
@shraddhaag how did the event go? :tada: Please don't forget to write an event report. When you have the event report ready you can open a ticket here https://pagure.io/fedora-budget/ to get reimbursed. Ping me if you need any help.

@shraddhaag how did the event go? ๐r
The event was held on 6th November and received a huge response from my college students :)
Please don't forget to write an event report. ๐
I'll have the event report published within a week!
Hey @shraddhaag! Thanks for organizing a FWD event this year! I'm glad I got to be a part.
Were you able to get an event report up and get a reimbursement ticket open?
Hi @jflory7! I didn't get a chance to write the report yet. I'll try to get it done within a couple of days and get back here soon! Hope I'm not too late yet :)
