What kind of people do you expect to attend?
The event will be held at a high school in Tirana. We haven't received the final confirmation from them because they are on vacations but we are planning to organize it there. If this doesn't succeed, we will do it at Open Labs like last year. The audience will be high school students, new to open source and Fedora.
What do you plan to cover in the agenda for your FWD event?
Since most of the people will be new to open source and to Fedora, we will start with a talk on what open source is in general, and later talk more specifically about Fedora. We will talk about different ways that people can get involved in Fedora and start contributing. Anxhelo will talk about Gaming in Fedora and in the end we will do an Install fest using the Fedorator we have.
Are there any questions you have for the D&I Team?
No.
Anything you want us to know?
N/A
Plates/Napkins: $10 USD
FINAL TOTAL: 80 USD
Gaming in Fedora is what I liked personally in this event :) +1 for the event. All the best.
Don't forget to take pictures, collect the presentations if possible. Soon drive location will be shared to upload them. Thanks

Hi @anxh3l0, @jonatoni, and @marianab – this event is now approved for next month.
@anxh3l0 said… The event will be held at a high school in Tirana. We haven't received the final confirmation from them because they are on vacations but we are planning to organize it there.
It's exciting to hear that you all are going to a local high school to present this event. I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I like the experimentation! I'll be interested to hear how it goes, if you get the confirmation.
Can you update us in the ticket once you receive a confirmation or if you will run the event at Open Labs?
In the meanwhile, consider these points while you plan your event:
We plan to share a resource pack with FWD event organizers in early September.
The resource pack will include information on Fedora editions / objectives, content on Fedora <3 Python, and more. Once available, we encourage you to make use of it for your event.
Please promote different ways to get involved and participate in the Fedora community.
When promoting the Fedora community, we encourage you to include other opportunities to contribute across Fedora. A great resource is whatcanidoforfedora.org. An overview of the different Fedora sub-projects is helpful to include. We plan to include other suggestions for this in the resource pack.
Please collect participation metrics about the number of attendees and other information you think is useful.
We want to better understand how FWD events impact the local communities and Fedora. At a minimum, please note the number of attendees at your event. Other numbers may be useful depending on your event.
Some suggestions are…

Reimbursement Process for FWD
Open a ticket in the Budget Repo. The ticket must contain the following information:
Thanks!!
Metadata Update from @jflory7: - Issue tagged with: needs report
Thank you for organizing your FWD event! On behalf of the Fedora D&I team, we hope it was a success. :tada: We have two updates for you:
To close out your FWD event, please write an event report no more than three weeks from your FWD event date. Your event report should be published on the Fedora Community Blog, but a personal blog is also acceptable. Don't forget to include one to three pictures! :camera:
The Community Blog uses WordPress, so you can write and draft your article on the Community Blog site. If you need help, please reach out in this ticket.
Note: An event report is required to receive reimbursement for your event.
Once your event report is published and you share a link to it in this ticket, you can request reimbursement for your event. To request reimbursement, open an issue here:
https://pagure.io/fedora-budget/new_issue
@bex will work with you to reimburse the costs of your event. Remember to save all original receipts for your event expenses.
See more information on the event reimbursement process.
Hi @anxh3l0 @jonatoni @marianab – were you able to get an event report published for your event?
Hi @anxh3l0 @jonatoni @marianab, do you have any updates? Were you able to run your FWD event?
Hello @jflory7,
Yes, we managed to run the FWD event on the 30th of October (a bit late due to the non-availability of everyone) and will post in the Community Blog soon.
@anxh3l0 Thanks for the update. I'm glad you were able to run it!
For the event report, if it is easier for the organizers, you can also publish it on a personal blog if you prefer. Ideally, the Community Blog is the best place to publish and get visibility (e.g. Fedora Planet syndication), but the important part is sharing what happened. :grinning:
Let us know if we can be of any help.
Hi everyone,
I posted a report of the event on my personal website today. https://lushka.al/fedora-women-day-2018/
We will also publish it in the Community Blog soon, with some modifications and more metrics

@anxh3l0 Awesome event report! I removed the needs report tag from the issue. However, if you can get it onto the Community Blog too, that would be awesome. Even if you don't have time to make more edits, it would be great to publish it as-is.

I'll leave the ticket open for now. Let us know if you need any help with the Community Blog.
