I also found this obsolete mentorship program to guide new Fedora contributors buried deep in Fedora wiki : https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mentors
It would be interesting to see if it can be restarted in future.

We've discussed this on the join ML in the past. People are in favour of it, yea, but we felt that we aren't yet in a position contributor wise to work on this yet.

@ankursinha While unrelated to this original ticket's purpose, do you think it could become an additional functionality of the Join SIG to have mentors or a list of people to contact for helping getting started in specific areas?

Yes, of course. We'd love to have some sort of mentors pool in the future. It'll greatly improve the onboarding process, and the communication between teams etc.
