#40 Flock CommOps Workshop Planning
Closed: Fixed None Opened 8 years ago by jflory7.

== What ==
Flock, is a conference for Fedora contributors to come together, discuss new ideas, work to make those ideas a reality, and continue to promote the core values of the Fedora community: Freedom, Friends, Features, and First.

As part of Flock 2016, CommOps will be hosting special workshops during the week to get peoples' hands dirty working on CommOps tasks, seeing what we do, and how they can help. This will be a great opportunity for the rest of the Project to see how and what we do and to possibly help attract some more help to CommOps tasks or duties, like the Community Blog. Additionally, the workshops will also be a fun and engaging experience that no attendee will leave regretting! ;)

== When ==
Flock 2016 is '''August 2 - 5, 2016'''. Voting on Flock talks / workshops will likely occur in early May (to be determined). CommOps should begin creating firm, definitive ideas and plans to host workshops with shortly after the voting period.

For the purpose of keeping the future clear, this will likely fall into the Fedora 24 release cycle.

== The Plan ==
1. Come up with common "CommOps tasks".
2. Convert ideas into interactive tasks or engagements.
3. Share ideas with others, agree on definitive plans for workshop.
4. Kick butt at Flock!

The steps are likely to be added in over time as this is a far-off task to be completed and there may be new developments with CommOps that change this agenda before then.

Well, little did I realize that I already filed a ticket for the same thing almost half a year ago. Oops! Since ticket #79 is a little more current than this one, I'm going to close this ticket as a duplicate and we can do all of our planning in the newer ticket.
