This would mirror the behavior of the magazine and allow, hopefully, for greater conversation/interaction.

It's good to know the Magazine does this already – we will need to compare how they are configured. I'm not an expert on WordPress, so if anyone knows how to do this, feel free to jump in. Otherwise, I'll try to find some cycles to take this.

Most of the accounts on CommBlog are "Contributor"
Oops. This must have been a mistake I made setting things up in 2015/2016. I'll work at correcting this.

I manually moved all users in the Contributor group to the Author group. I also verified the email notifications are enabled. I'm going to close this one as complete.
@bex @bcotton Please re-open if you notice any issues. I don't have a way to immediately test this one.
