Perhaps we could adapt the one we use for CommOps and then propagate this one with more sub-projects?

I'm seeing a good opportunity for doing this at Flock 2018 at the docs hackfest (flock#85), if it is accepted. We can get some face-time with a few teams there that may be interested in porting their wiki pages / join documentation to the docs site.

Afterthought: it is a lot of manual human time spent to provide repeated instruction for things like this. Perhaps the most effective template is one we can plug into mailing lists for new subscribers to receive. I've always seen this functionality in Mailman/Hyperkitty, but never tried it.

@bt0dotninja I was looking back on this ticket – do you want to open it up for anyone to take on? This could be a good beginner task for a new contributor. I also know you too are balancing a lot these days.

Well, commops has been forced off the mailing list we had before, and onto a
web forum instead, so I'm not sure this ticket is still valid.

Okay, so all the tickets in commops are not valid now?

No, I think we should discuss this in the next commops meeting. It's just this
one, and any other email related ones, that I'm not so sure about, since we
don't use email anymore.

Okay, thanks for the information.

Hi @codetronaut!
Thanks for your interest in contributing. It would be great if you wanted to work on this ticket.
I think the fields in the description of this issue provide a great outline for the text. A good place to start would be to create a draft and to comment it onto this ticket once you are ready :)

@johnmh, thank you for the insight on commops mailing list. This ticket is for a common template for any newcomers to Fedora, and it could also be used on the web forum, mailing lists, chat rooms, really anywhere! No need to pause the work here :)

Okay, so I have to generate a template so that on the entry of every newcomer will get a proper guide/info about the state or we can say, info about how they can do the further contribution.
Right?

It seem this ticket is to create a template for the new contributors to use to introduce themselves via different modes of communication.

ok will give a draft of it soon.

I would like to work on it, Can I get assigned with it ?

Looking back at this ticket, I think it is basically a duplicate of the Fedora Join SIG "Welcome to Fedora" process. The Join SIG handles these things really well. When this ticket was opened in 2018, there was not a "Welcome to Fedora" process.

So, I am closing this ticket as duplicate because I think the need was met by the Fedora Join SIG already.
