#7 Support automatic execution of tests of dependende components
Opened 5 years ago by mvadkert. Modified 10 months ago

It was raised in https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/8187 that it would be nice, if CI would be able to execute all tests of depended packages when testing a package. This could be an optional feature of CI (at least for the start). Something like koschei but instead of rebuilding it would run tests of depended components.

Feel free to extend please.

Note that this is being discussed also on downstream, so we might have some updates here soon

Reverse dependencies are now running on downstream for 3 components. I will try to discuss with the team how to move this forward to bring it to Fedora also.

This is now working on downstream. But we are lacking time to port it to upstream and there are more general issues there. We will get back to it once those things are done.

@mvadkert have we expanded this in upstream yet? I feel like we have, but I'm not sure.

@jimbair leftovers leftovers :) Well, this is OSCI feature, rev-deps test. Testing Farm is ready for this use case. So the question is where are we with revdep pipeline using Testing Farm? :)

@msrb are there some plans for revdep testing in Fedora.

If not, I would close this, as seems there is not much interest in it.
