A new image building tool is being actively developed to replace Lorax: OSBuild.
This tool is intended to replace all the use-cases where Lorax is used today:
In preparation for when Fedora starts switching to OSBuild for various deliverable media, we need to add full support for Btrfs for various images where applicable.
As of right now, OSBuild now has basic support for Btrfs, and can set up a trivial Btrfs filesystem, courtesy of @dcavalca (gh#osbuild/osbuild#471).
This improvement was merged and released into OSBuild v20.
Support for subvolumes, configuring Btrfs compression, and other Btrfs features are not yet implemented, though.
