#764 Nest Badges Design Workshop Attendee Badge
Opened 8 months ago by smeragoel. Modified a day ago

Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):
- You attended the Badges Design Workshop at Nest!

Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is
awarded for certain kinds of activities:

1) What are these activities?
- This badge is awarded to the people who participated in the Badges Design Workshop at Nest

2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans?
users? sponsors?)
- Badges Design workshop attendees

3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)
- to learn how to design badges and contribute to Fedora Badges!

4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)
- At Nest!

5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console?
by using a web interface?)
- by participating in the video

Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?
- We discussed this idea in the workshop itself, and participants suggested a badger painting the nest logo on a canvas

Hi @sayaksarkar! This is such a good first attempt :D I agree that the background is a bit busy. Maybe you can put in a simple background and reduce the size of the canvas board. Also, maybe change the colour the paints on the palette to match that of the logo? Might be fun to have that! You can also give the elements some space to breathe by reducing their size and shifting them away from the outer border. Excited to see what you come up with next!

Hi @sayaksarkar! I love the concept, however, I'm concerned how these details will translate when viewed at a small size, especially the NEST logo. I love how it is spaced out, maybe simplify the background and zoom in a bit on the badger + canvas like in the earlier iterations? You could try reducing the number of elements in the background or maybe experiment with a design that signifies staying inside or virtual because NEST was online (idk just a random thought) ?

Can't wait for the next one!!

Hi @riecatnor @smeragoel ,I am Surender Outreachy-21, Is there any adjustment in this design? I want to fix it If you guide me about this.

I think artwork is completed but some adjustments about simplification of background+elemnts, canvas redesign, artwork zoom in, colour combination of colour pad (choose colour of Fedora recommend color[LOGO COLOUR].
Or any design idea!?
Thanks @riecatnor @smeragoel I waiting for your kind suggestions 💞
Happy Easter :)

Hi @surender786 you are welcome to work on this badge design :)

The artwork needs some adjustments still. I would recommend the following:
- Use the composition from this: https://pagure.io/fedora-badges/issue/764#comment-670054
- Use the background from this, with less clouds: https://pagure.io/fedora-badges/issue/764#comment-672849
Let's see how that looks, and then go from there!

@sayaksarkar I actually really like version 2, but the idea of the artist with a brick background is also nice :D I jumped in and made a few small changes to help simplify the design. Wdyt?

Side note, your badge area was a bit off, make sure to leave the template pieces in place :D

@riecatnor This looks so much better now! I love it! Also, I'll make sure to not fidget with the template much from the next time. :)

Do you think it's time to publish the badge then? :D
