#642 DevConf.US Party Badge
Closed: declined 5 years ago Opened 5 years ago by langdon.

Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):

Argh, another one. We will be having a party at the conference and would love a party badge. Party is Saturday. I seem to recall there being DevConf.CZ party badges but I don't see any when I search. If there isn't one, we probably can skip this.

However, if there is, I would just want to base it on that. The party does have a "cloud" theme. The kind you find in the sky if that provides any further inspiration.

Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is
awarded for certain kinds of activities:

1) What are those activities?
Attending the DevConf.US 2018 Party

2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans?
users? sponsors?)
Conference attendees (limited number of people though)

3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)
Have fun!

4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)
Once

5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console?
by using a web interface?)
Doing a jig, playing some games, being friendly.

Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?
see above

There are no DevConf.CZ party badges. The consensus was that only Flock will receive party badges. I'm -1 here.

I agree with @churchyard here. That said, I am starting to wonder if we should have a non-Fedora badges option. We need to ensure the project is ok with supporting it, but as one of the more (most?) successful badges platforms, enlarging the "tent" could be good here.

WDYT?

This is seriously off topic. Start a discussion on the badges mailing list if you wish.

I will close this ticket, since there is a general agreement on 1 badge per event. Looking forward to further discussion on event badges as per riecatnor's and bex's comments.
