Only thing I could find was a link for the official logo.
Here's what I have come up with so far, but I am curious to know whether anyone on the design team or someone closely in-touch with the conference knows where I could find an SVG of the linux penguin or the solid-white penguin with the circle around it used for the conference? I bitmap traced the one here, but if I can get ahold of a better SVG of it, I might be able to come up with something a little better too! [[Image(linuxcon_ticket#493_attempt1.png)]]

Looks good to me. Just if we can bring down the text '2016' a bit.

Hi Mary! I think the penguin looks just fine, did you trace him by hand or automatically? If you want an svg you should be able to reach out to them on twitter or facebook; but again - it looks just fine, what do you suppose it's missing now?
Considering the badge itself, it looks great, I would just bring 2016 down a bit, bc now composition-wise number and text seem a little far apart. The pattern seems a bit random to me, maybe try arranging the lines in staggered rows, if that makes sense.
Hey @mleonova, I tweaked the composition like you mentioned and i decided to try something completely different for the background (i too wasn't particularly feeling the background that I had). the linuxcon website has a very particular color scheme so I used the same stripe colors that it uses and overlayed it with grey to fit into the correct badge category [[Image(linuxcon_ticket#493_attempt2.2.png)]]

I like the background better now but maybe the stripes would look better if they were of equal length ? Or atleast the pink stripe could be a bit bigger, maybe ? The linuxcon website has the stripes with unequal length because of the size of tabs they represent.
Apart from that, I think we should approve and push the badge to production asap because LinuxCon is on the coming Tuesday, Oct 4th and it would be great to have the badges ready on the first day.

Hey! This is much better, I love how you arranged the elements! But I think we can stick to gray background with some unobtrusive pattern. Less is more ;) Maybe this pattern would be just fine:

Thanks for forwarding me that badge to use the background! Just applied a version of the rays to a grey background to the badge. How's this looking? [[Image(linuxcon_ticket#493_attempt3.png)]]

I was just taking a look at this and I thought that the white doesn't quite stand out enough from the lightened up background. I threw on a gray stroke to the whole thing and make the penguin purple (pulling from the badge outline). Here's what I came up with; I think it sticks to the badge guidelines a little better than the previous designs [[Image(linuxcon_ticket#493_attempt 4.svg)]]

Hi! Great thinking! Let's just make the penguin coral (taken from their web #ff665e) and I'll approve it!
Mary, sorry - not meaning to step on your toes, but jflory tells me it has to be done today. So here it is with the orange: [[Image(http://i.imgur.com/1VYZx5g.png)]]
