#55 iCal export link is hard to get
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by kparal.

I want to add a calendar from Fedocal to my calendar application (Google Calendar, Thunderbird, ...). I don't want to add statically exported content (iCal file), I want to add a dynamic calendar that will change in time (iCal hyperlink). If I select a calendar and hit "iCal export", I get just the file. I managed to copy the link of the popup menu using right mouse button and it worked, but it's really hard to discover.

Can we add a menu item that will display the link, and maybe some instructions? ("Copy this link, choose 'Add remote calendar' in your calendar application and paste this link in there").

It is actually described in the documentation http://fedocal.readthedocs.org/en/latest/usage.html#ical-feed
but I see what you mean. I'll see if I can find a place to add the information

Implemented in https://github.com/fedora-infra/fedocal/pull/32

It would be very nice if you could test this change (I didn't test it on a phone for example).

I don't see it on the production server. Do you have a staging instance somewhere so that I can test it?

It's not yet in staging but I just updated the dev server at: https://209.132.184.147/

Works for me, and for my colleague on Android.

Awesome thanks! I will merge the change then.
