#770 pkidestroy doesn't work without DNS
Closed: migrated 3 years ago by dmoluguw. Opened 10 years ago by edewata.

Under some circumstances a machine may not have a DNS configured properly (e.g. test machines). In those cases pkidestroy will fail as follows:

dnsdomainname: Name or service not known
subprocess.CalledProcessError: Command 'dnsdomainname' returned non-zero exit status 1!

The DNS domain name is used to populate some deployment parameters during instance creation. However, the parameters are not needed for instance removal, so pkidestroy should still work regardless of DNS configuration.

[06/04/2014] - Moving to Milestone 10.3 due to schedule restrictions.
