The PrettyPrintCert and PrettyPrintCrl only accept non-standard file formats (base-64 encoded certificate or CRL). They don't accept PEM or binary certificates or CRL files generated by NSS tools.
They should be modified to accept the standard formats and do internal conversion if needed.
