#2405 Using DocBook to generate man pages and online docs.
Closed: invalid 5 years ago by cipherboy. Opened 7 years ago by edewata.

Currently the man pages are written in troff format which is a bit hard to use. To simplify development it might be better to use the !DocBook format instead. Based on preliminary investigation it offers some benefits:

  • the !DocBook uses a more familiar XML format
  • the !DocBook file can be converted into man pages and HTML pages which can be published on the website
  • there seems to be visual editors that support !DocBook format
