As discussed in Bugzilla Bug #1170686 - Even if we set the expirationTime (log.instance.System.expirationTime) the logs does not get deleted ., we should re-visit whether or not we should allow automatic deletion of log files as a part of an organization's policy.
This feature has been documented to have been disabled for over 10 years in previous versions of the product.
Note that if it is determined that this feature should be re-enabled, it would almost certainly be disabled by default to prevent accidental/unintended loss of data.
