A mascot for EPEL
EPEL currently does not have a mascot. While working on EPEL's logo, one of the ideas for the logo fits much better as a mascot versus a logo.
A centaur. Ideally a centaur holding a sword in one hand, and a briefcase in the other. Perhaps something similar to this. https://pagure.io/design/issue/770#comment-737292
The reason for the centaur mascot is that the upper person half can be all business, while the lower horse half can run free and go where it wants to go.

What are the next steps for a mascot? Should I try to draw one in SVG, and see where we go from there?
Here is a first attempt of mine of the mascot. This is drawn 100% by me, in inkscape. The top/human part is based off the top/human part of the centaur logo in our other thread. The bottom/horse part is based off several different horse pictures that I was looking at.

Oh my goodness, that looks much better than I expected. I drew each piece (legs, body, human body, sword and briefcase) individually, in different colors. Then grouped them together and made them all black. This is the first time I've actually looked at it all together, in one color, and my mind isn't comprehending that I actually drew that.
This came up in a different conversation. EPELves, or EPEL Elves. To me, it seemed appropriate and fitting. The Elves use their magic to create wonderful presents for everyone. So, I drew this elf.

I think I prefer an elf to a centaur for the mascot. I also like the "use their magic to create wonderful presents (packages)" angle.
