The Fedora Community in Mexico is growing and spreading to new cities. Our current graphical identity only represents Mexico City; inspired by the Mascot revamp tickets, the community thinks that one logo based on an animal native of Mexico can be a great idea.
We need an image/logo that can represent widely our community and We think the design team can have awesome ideas about it.
Actually, we have only one candidate

The Angel silhouette corresponds to a representative Monument in Mexico City. Other big cities in Mexico don't feel represented with the current logo.
We don't have a deadline but two or three months sounds good for us :)

@bt0dotninja thank you for the info! It really helps. From this arises one more thing I need to ask you, then. Where do you plan do use the logo?

We loved the last two logos :heart:
Maybe using the Fedora Color Palette we can use it easily in our normal poster generation (usually with the current default wallpaper of Fedora as background)

@bt0dotninja The Fedora logo letterings can be done in all-white if needed for the posters 👍
@bt0dotninja if you have an example poster, we can try out the logo on it
Also how open would you be to an idea to have a sugar skull styled panda for a mascot? I did a quick sketch for you just to get the idea and see how you feel about it, so I can either work on it further or not:

We do have a big history of having pandas and badgers for characters, so it would be our first choice. (I do adore axolotls, too ;))

I really like the idea of a skull style panda, I love the axolotl idea more. The pink axolotl is characteristic of the region and would look very nice as a badge or logo.

Think, for example, of the duoingo owl, who wears different outfits for different languages.

It would be great! A panda with sugar skull makeup or dressed up as a pink axolotl.

We (the Mexican community) loved the skull panda design, maybe we can work around this design for one final proposal. :)
Would it be too much to ask for a version with the letters included? It's a great design and is very much in keeping with our upcoming Day of the Dead celebration.
I had a go at improving the designs for this ticket.
The Design Team is trying to move towards the new character designs and away from our older "panda aesthetic". Check this out, it's a combo of the Day of the Dead skull design with the new panda style. Please let me know what you think :)

Hey @duffy thanks :) I am not opposed to that, though I do think the panda head alone is nice too. Could we have two variations, the head only option being more for logo type applications and the full body option for illustration type applications?
Also- I will do my best to get to this but my schedule is pretty full... if anyone else wants to work on it, feel free!
